1 · Introduction & vision
Wendy's Reserve is a community protocol on Solana that turns trading activity into real exposure to Wendy's Company stock — tokenized on-chain — and passes the economic upside back to token holders through periodic dividend airdrops.
The idea is deliberately simple: instead of fees disappearing into a void or funding unrelated operations, 100% of trading fees are used to buy tokenized Wendy's equity. Holders of the Wendy's Reserve token become indirect shareholders in the reserve's WEN position and receive dividends every 6 hours.
2 · The buyback mechanism
A buyback, in traditional finance, is when a company repurchases its own shares — often to return value to shareholders. Wendy's Reserve applies this concept at the protocol layer:
- Users trade the Wendy's Reserve token on Solana DEXs.
- Each trade incurs a fee (defined by the token's fee configuration on-chain).
- Fees accumulate in a dedicated reserve wallet.
- When sufficient fees are available, the protocol executes a buy of tokenized WEN through Backpack.
- The purchased WEN sits in the reserve, generating dividend entitlement for holders.
Unlike meme tokens that promise "buybacks" with no transparency, every purchase is logged on the Purchases page and verifiable on Solscan once transactions occur.
3 · Why Backpack?
Backpack is a crypto exchange and wallet that pioneered tokenized equities — real-world stocks represented as on-chain tokens. As of launch, Backpack is the only platform where you can purchase tokenized equities like Wendy's (WEN) directly on-chain.
What Backpack provides
- Tokenized WEN — Wendy's Company stock as an on-chain asset.
- Regulated wrapper — equities are issued through Backpack's tokenized securities infrastructure.
- On-chain settlement — purchases and holdings are traceable on Solana.
- Dividend passthrough — corporate actions and dividend events flow through to token holders.
The reserve wallet connects to Backpack's API to execute market buys when the fee pool reaches the minimum threshold for a cost-efficient order. You don't need a Backpack account to hold Wendy's Reserve or receive airdrops — only the protocol's reserve wallet interacts with Backpack directly.
4 · Fee collection & routing
Fees are the lifeblood of the protocol. Here's exactly how they're handled:
| Stage | What happens | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Trade | User buys or sells Wendy's Reserve token | Continuous |
| Fee capture | Fee % deducted and sent to reserve wallet | Per transaction |
| Accumulation | Fees pool until buyback threshold met | Ongoing |
| Buyback | Reserve purchases WEN on Backpack | When threshold reached |
| Dividend | Pro-rata airdrop to all holders | Every 6 hours |
100% allocation. No portion of fees goes to team wallets, marketing budgets, or liquidity incentives beyond what's already in the pool. The fee routing is hard-coded in the token's on-chain configuration.
Track the live fee pool on the Fees page. The displayed balance refreshes every 60 seconds with a visible countdown so you always know when the next update lands.
5 · Tokenized Wendy's (WEN)
Wendy's Company (NASDAQ: WEN) is one of the world's largest quick-service restaurant chains. Through Backpack's tokenized equity program, WEN exists as an on-chain token backed by real shares.
What holders get
- Exposure to Wendy's stock price through the reserve's accumulated WEN position.
- Dividend distributions when the reserve receives WEN dividend events.
- Transparent, on-chain proof of every share purchased by the protocol.
What holders don't get
- Direct shareholder voting rights (those sit with the custodial wrapper).
- Guaranteed returns — stock prices and dividends fluctuate with market conditions.
- Instant liquidity in WEN itself — you hold Wendy's Reserve, not WEN directly.
6 · Dividend airdrops
Dividends are the primary value return mechanism. When the reserve holds WEN and receives dividend distributions (from Wendy's corporate dividend schedule, passed through Backpack), those proceeds are collected and airdropped to Wendy's Reserve token holders.
Airdrops are pro-rata: your share of the dividend pool equals your token balance divided by total circulating supply at the snapshot block. Larger bags get larger slices — no preferential tiers, no whitelist, no staking multiplier.
7 · The 6-hour cycle
The protocol operates on a fixed 6-hour dividend clock. Cycles are anchored to UTC and repeat at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, and 18:00 UTC daily.
Snapshot rules
- Balances are read at the snapshot block — typically 5 minutes before cycle end.
- Tokens moved after snapshot don't count for that cycle (they count for the next).
- Excluded: LP pool addresses, burn addresses, and the reserve wallet itself.
- Minimum balance threshold may apply for dust prevention (check on-chain config).
8 · Holder eligibility
To receive dividend airdrops, you must:
- Hold Wendy's Reserve tokens in a self-custody Solana wallet (Phantom, Backpack, Solflare, etc.).
- Maintain a balance above the minimum threshold at snapshot time.
- Not hold on excluded addresses (CEX deposit wallets are typically ineligible until withdrawn).
There is no registration step. Holding is sufficient. Your wallet address is read directly from chain state at snapshot — the same way Solana validators read account data.
9 · Fee dashboard
The Fees page shows the current accumulated fee balance waiting to be deployed into the next WEN buyback. Key details:
- Live balance — total SOL/USDC equivalent sitting in the reserve fee wallet.
- 60-second refresh — the displayed value updates every minute. A countdown timer shows time until the next refresh.
- Local persistence — your countdown state is saved in browser storage so it stays accurate if you navigate away and return.
- Circular gauge — visual representation of fee accumulation relative to the buyback threshold.
At launch, the fee pool reads $0.00 — the protocol is live but buybacks begin once trading volume generates fees. This is expected and transparent.
10 · Purchase ledger
Every WEN buyback executed by the protocol is recorded on the Purchases page. Each entry includes:
- Transaction signature (link to Solscan)
- Amount of WEN purchased
- Price paid and fee source amount
- Timestamp (UTC)
Currently the ledger shows 0 purchases — no buybacks have executed yet. The first purchase will appear here automatically once fees accumulate and the reserve executes its inaugural Backpack order.
11 · Architecture overview
Components
- Token contract — SPL token with fee-on-transfer routing to reserve.
- Reserve wallet — holds accumulated fees and purchased WEN. Public, verifiable on Solscan.
- Buyback executor — monitors fee balance, executes Backpack market orders.
- Dividend scheduler — cron-style 6-hour job: snapshot → calculate → airdrop.
- This dashboard — read-only frontend for docs, fees, purchases, and links.
12 · Transparency & verification
Don't trust — verify. Everything important is on-chain:
- Token contract — view on Solscan via the Socials page.
- Reserve wallet — monitor fee inflows and WEN holdings in real time.
- Purchase txs — every buyback signature linked from the Purchases ledger.
- Airdrop txs — dividend distributions visible in holder wallet history.
Follow project updates on X (link on the Socials page). Major buybacks and dividend cycles are announced there.
13 · Risks & disclaimers
Wendy's Reserve is an experimental community project, not a registered security, investment fund, or financial product. Important considerations:
- Market risk — WEN stock price can go down. Dividends are not guaranteed.
- Smart contract risk — bugs or exploits could affect the protocol. Audit status: community review.
- Platform risk — Backpack availability and tokenized equity program changes could impact buybacks.
- Regulatory risk — tokenized securities rules vary by jurisdiction.
- No affiliation — Wendy's Reserve is not affiliated with The Wendy's Company or Backpack Exchange beyond using their tokenized product.

How often are dividends paid?
Every 6 hours — four times daily at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, and 18:00 UTC.
What token do I need to hold?
The Wendy's Reserve SPL token. Contract address is on the Socials page (Solscan link).
